These are the rules the site is built around, written down so you can hold it to them.
One source of record
Every published figure on this site traces to the Guide to Air Cleaners in the Home (2nd edition) (U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, retrieved 2026-08-30). Figures are transcribed verbatim, quoted, never paraphrased into new numbers.
Where a page needs a figure this project does not hold, the page states the gap. It does not get written with an invented number, a rough average, or a number borrowed from a different dataset.
Refusals are content
CADR is defined for particles. There is no published CADR for gases, odours or VOCs. MERV grades capture efficiency, not room size. Both refusals are stated in full wherever a reader could reasonably expect an answer.
A page that cannot prove its claim does not get published, and no social pin makes a claim its landing page cannot prove within the first screen.
Commerce, ranked last
The affiliate disclosure renders above the first affiliate link on every page. One filled suggestion per screen, a second halves the first.
No price appears anywhere on this site: not in a title, meta description, table, sentence or alt text. Amazon restricts price display to their own tools; the restriction is followed without exception.
Links carry rel="sponsored nofollow noopener", open in a new tab, and route through a logged redirect. No price, no ASIN, no model verdicts.
Corrections
If a published figure changes or a transcription is wrong, the page changes the same day it is found. Pages carry a last-updated date, and the tool reads the same dataset the pages quote.
Spotted an error? The contact page reaches a human. Corrections are answered, not archived.
